Jill Hennessy

The Edmonton native is who has Irish, Italian and Swedish roots, along with French Ukrainian French and Swedish. Her twin sister, Jacqueline is a professional actress. Jill was fluent in several languages when she was growing up. These comprised Italian, French, and Spanish. As a teenager, she started to get interested in acting. In Toronto the city she was born, she began acting professionally as an actress in David Cronenberg's Dead Ringers. She played an escort along with her twin sister. Then she studied improv comedy at Second City with Deb Kimmet. After moving into New York, Claire signed an agreement for two years in Law & Order to be the Assistant District Attorney Claire Kincaid. The three years she spent on the show in the show, she was also performing in feature films, such as RoboCop 3 (1993), Ron Howard's The Paper (1994), and I Shot Andy Warhol (1996). Over the next couple of years she landed gigs in a number of forgettable movies and in 1999, she was offered a leading role in the micro-series uremberg with Alec Baldwin. Autumn in New York, Exit Wounds and other major productions were to follow. She landed the leading role in her role on the NBC police thriller Crossing Jordan in 2001. In 2007, she received the Gracie Allen Award for "Outstanding female actor in a drama" in recognition of her role on the show. The actress got married to another actor Paolo Mastropietro in 2000.
