Apollonia Kotero

Patricia Apollonia Kotero was an American model and a singer. She is also a co-star in Prince's 1984 film, Purple Rain. She's best known for her role in Prince's 1984 movie Purple Rain as well as singing lead in Apollonia 6, a girl group. In the 1980s, the actress-singer Prince named Apollonia to be one of many female artists who gained from working with the prince. Patricia Kotero began her acting and modeling career in Santa Monica California, in the latter part of the 1970s. She also appeared on CHiPS. In 1984, the actress was a part of the main lady in Prince's Purple Rain. After a falling out over the direction of her career Apollonia 6 broke up, and Kotero ended her association with Prince. The singer appeared in several small movies during this period however, she was not able to appear on the set of her role in the Purple Rain sequel Under the Cherry Moon. From 1985 to 1986 she was offered a role on the drama series for evenings Falcon Crest. Apollonia finally released her debut in 1988 but the comparatively insignificant collection of songs that incorporated dance/R&B did not impress those who bought music, and it soon disappeared from sight. During the following decade, she continued to be active in the field of acting (if she was a bit unnoticed), with minor film roles, television appearances as well as an exercise video. Apollonia made a record in English and Spanish entitled Stay with me in 1997. After going back to college and obtaining a degree for filmmaking she started her own production company.
